The postholder for this role will be working to create high quality photographs in support of client briefs with a focus on studio object photography.

Responsibilities

Produce high quality digital images.
Produce creative images to meet set briefs.
To observe and employ best practice in all aspects of collections security and object handling.
Reporting on production issues to the Head of Photography and Imaging
Process images as per photography and imaging workflow procedures
Knowledge of 3D processes, infrared & ultraviolet photography techniques would be desirable.
Uploading images and entering data into the Museum image database
As required, work outside normal hours e.g., weekends, evenings, to document Museum events and support of Museum’s public programmes
As required, work on location both within the UK and abroad
As required, other duties directed by the Head of Photography and Imaging
Comply with Museum Health and Safety protocols and procedure.
Directing and supervising the work of junior staff and volunteers

Experience Needed

Advanced knowledge of photographic processes and technologies
A formal professional qualification in photography. Degree or equivalent.
Practical use of professional camera systems
Practical understanding of digital capture and colour management
Advanced Adobe Photoshop, Capture One and other industry standard software.
Prior experience of working in a professional photographic environment
Ability to work effectively with others.
Flexibility: demonstrates a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deal with urgent deadlines
Communication: is able to communicate clearly with customers concerning delivery of image requirements and with departmental staff over workflow issues
