Nimco Kulmiye Hussein (they/them) (b. Helsinki, Finland) is a multi-disciplinary practitioner/curator/critic based in London, UK who works at the intersections of research [text+image], [visual]culture(s) and art [projects]. Nimco Kulmiye Hussein is the founding member and co-editor of visual arts and culture magazine Ante Nouveau, a biennial publication that centres critical discussion around artistic practices and visual cultures. Specializing in queer-feminist and postcolonial discourses as well as curatorial and editorial content, they are passionate about critically engaging practices within visual cultures (arts and design) that connect people through immersive, innovative and meaningful narratives. Kulmiye Hussein is interested in creating phygital platforms and spaces that foster creative and collaborative connections around transformative agencies within the curatorial field.
